Glutathione is not on the MFDS list of notified brightening actives. When a product claims brightening, the claim rests on the notified ingredient beside it. That is usually niacinamide, seventh on the list. Its notified range runs 2 to 5 percent, so it has to sit near the top of the label to do that job. Tocopherol is known to support glutathione on the antioxidant side.
