Niacinamide is a brightening active the MFDS recognises, at 2 to 5 percent. The problem is how common it is. Four in every ten products we collected carry it, so presence alone tells you nothing. We look at two things instead: whether it sits high enough on the label to match that dose, and whether a second recognised brightening active joins it.
We checked all 983 products in our database that contain niacinamide. 125 of them also carry another recognised brightening active the MFDS recognises.

From the 40 that clear every check, we kept 10 and spread them across formats so there is something to choose from. Nothing here is a claim about results.
